Many companies follow the concept of providing reimbursement to employees for their mobile connections either fully or partly, and many go for providing cell phones or connections to their employees and handle the billing requirements on their own.

Companies that allow their employees to choose their mobile phones and connections and only limits themselves to reimbursement of the billing amount, often miss out the fact that they are also passing on the potential volume discounts to them. Service providers offer great discounts to companies that opt for corporate mobile network schemes for their employees. It may be in the form of free calls on phones covered under the same scheme, cheaper tariff rates on the same network, discounts on bulk purchase, and many more. Companies can also customize their corporate mobile network plans as per their needs by negotiating well with the service providers.

Companies with the help of corporate mobile network plans can make great savings by reducing their phone expenses, both internally and externally. They can also put a break on the huge expenses incurred on networking applications like email, voice mail, messaging, conference calling, and the like. With the use of common cell phones and networks, companies are in a position to establish better control over the workings of their employees and especially if they are involved in field activity. Employee tracking has also become easier with the use of mobile networking techniques.

Companies often complaint about the huge overheads incurred on mobile billings which is basically attributed to inappropriate tracking of mobile usage of employees. Many telecommunication service providers offer the facility of regular data reports to the user companies but it requires great efforts and time to analyze them properly. Companies also find it difficult to enforce the usage policies of cell phones to employees due to lack of cooperation. It is also a very tough task to deploy internet and networking applications when employees are using different mobile networks and cell phones.

Cell Phone KPIs can be organized under four major perspectives- cost savings, customization, operation and control, and lastly employee tracking. Cost Savings Perspective takes into account of KPIs like % dip in internal phone costs, % dip in external or distant phone expenses, % savings in bulk purchase of cell-phones connections, etc. Customization Perspective can be had through customization level of corporate mobile network schemes, % rise in discounts on corporate employee mobile schemes, etc. Operation and Control Perspective talks about KPIs such as improvement in Connectivity Level on same mobile network, staff optimization level, etc. Employee Tracking Perspective takes into consideration of KPIs like improvement in employee tracking, rise in employee efficiency, improvement in employee coordination, etc.
